Physical
Therapists
Physical
therapists are
educated in understanding the interaction of all body parts.
Therapists hands-on approach begins with examination, diagnosis, and
treatment of the immediate problem. Treatments include bracing, orthotics, massage, mobilizations, stretching, and modalities (heat,
ice, and ultrasound). The next step is to educate patients on how to
take care of themselves by showing exercises to gain strength and
mobility and prevent recurring injury. You’ll find therapists advising
on proper posture and body mechanics in the work place, treating
injuries, consulting on fitness, and administering healthcare on playing
fields. Today physical therapists provide help to more than 1 million
people every day, everyone from infants to the elderly.
